Wedding Album Design: Maine Wedding Photography
This album was really fun to work on, there are so many wonderful moments in here! The wedding reception was at the Marriott Sable Oaks in South Portland Maine. They have a lovely lobby for photographs. Truly a pleasure to get to know the Long Island side of the family :) Also very excited to announce Angela and Gary are expecting!! After watching them interact with the kids in the family I have no doubt that they will be wonderful parents.

I am so excited about this Oct. 1st wedding. These two are just so much fun to be around, and a great pair. Josh did such an awesome job on being original with the engagement. She had wanted to carve pumpkins for Halloween and so Josh bought two pumpkins to carve. He made it a contest to see who could “carve the best face” so that she couldn’t look while he carved “Marry Me” into the pumpkin. Hope you enjoy their slideshow video as much as I enjoyed photographing it!
Maine Maid of Honor: Maine Wedding Photography
Ok, so when I was a little girl I grew up dreaming of my best friend’s wedding. That was only of course after we had made tons of money as big shot CEO’s. While my best friend is a very successful engineer…we never imagined we would end up where we are now :) Anyway her wedding was always going to be amazing, and in my world my dad would walk her down the isle (in this world her mom probably will) because unfortunately we lost her dad just after I met her in grade school. Ya thats right Kelly has been my best friend for over 15 years :) So for months I have known my best friend would be marrying her current boyfriend…and finally it happened! She got engaged! Wow, I haven’t cried like that in forever! Crazy, we are old enough to be married! lol I couldn’t be happier for her, he really has completely balanced Kelly and I have never seen her happier. Anyway…I live in Maine and she lives in Connecticut and there is lots of planning to do :) Everyone asks me if I am going to photograph it…no way! I am going to be crying happy tears most of the day! Besides this may be the only wedding I ever get to be in :) I get to be the maid of honor! Instead of watching people get beautiful on some lovely Saturday next spring I get to get beautiful with them. (This calls for a workout schedule and diet!) Trust me when I say in my eyes she will be the most amazing and elegant bride I have ever seen and I pretty much attend 30 weddings a year :) So because the wedding world is my life, I thought I would share my experience in a wedding with everyone. Let me first begin by saying that movie Bridesmaids….ya that is pretty much my life for the next 12 months :) I would do anything for her though, so hopefully I can put on a class act shower and bachelorette party. I just wanted to share my news with the world! She is currently looking at venues. We always thought she would get married in a castle of some kind, so we are checking out some places along the Hudson River in NY. Wish me luck :) Here is a pic of us taken like four years ago! (I need to get on the picture wagon with my friends huh)

Nykki was one of my 2010 brides. She had a water birth and it took about 6 hours from start to finish. This little guy stayed awake for three hours before finally falling asleep for these portraits :)

Wedding Albums: Maine Wedding Photography
No two wedding albums are alike. I love making each page different. On some pages I might leave a lot of white space for a clean simple look, on others I might fill it with dancing shots or details. I often use an image in the background that is faded out and then lay images on top of it. I love telling the story of each couples day. Some tips for working with your photographer on album designs are
*choose your favorite images and let the photographer fill in the story line
*talk with your photographer about what types of pages you like
*reply with detailed changes (the image you would like to replace, what image you are replacing it with, and what page it is on)
*add some design vector elements
*take a screne shot of your facebook announcement of your wedding day and add it
*try out a digital album
*put the family photos in the parents books and leave most of the out of your bridal book
*know that there are often album upgrades such as more pages, all sizes, and different paper and cover choices
*when you are chooseing a photographer be sure you love the look of their albums and the way each one is designed
*talk through the album design process with your photographer
*know that there is no replacement for a professionally designed and printed wedding album (kids don’t try this at home) :)
