The Receiving Line: Maine Wedding Photographer
When photographers here the words “receiving line” we immediately become concerned. Its not that we don’t want to photograph you hugging your guests….its that unless the couple has decided to do the “first look” that 30 minutes of receiving is precious photo time. So I guess what I want to say is…if your photos are important to you, and if it is important to you to be able to sit and eat your dinner you are going to want to have talked to each of your guests. The best way to do this is through the receiving line (which by the way is also an excellent opportunity to take pictures with people you want but aren’t in either the family formals or the bridal party) but that means you should have at least a two hour gap between your ceremony and your reception (the longer the better) or you could get even better images and emotion and do the first look (getting all of the bridal party images and bride & groom images done) leaving plenty of time for you to receive and to see everyone again at cocktail hour thus allowing you to be uninterrupted and enjoy your first meal as husband and wife. :)

Lucerne Inn: Maine Wedding Photography
After 14 years Kate and Nate finally tied the knot! They were married at the Lucerne Inn, in Dedham Maine. They had a black and white wedding with red accents of color. It was a beautiful day, and they choose the location because it was close to their favorite place in Maine to visit…Acadia National Park.

Maine Wedding Photographer: Moments and Memories
I want to take a couple minutes to talk about why I have such a wonderful job and how fortunate I am. Last year I had the pleasure of photographing Rachel & Brad’s wedding and Rachel & Matt’s wedding. These two families are one big family now :) At Rachel and Brad’s wedding I met some pretty wonderful people who I am excited to say I still talk to once in a while :) So anyway I photographed with another wedding professional and there at that wedding I found the same wonderful people from earlier that summer! This year I am blessed to be seeing them several more times…since more of their mutual friends are getting married. These weddings are so much fun because the people are so sweet. I am blessed to have been welcomed into their lives, and I am so excited to see more of them in the future. Anyway, this blog post is dedicated to Noelle & Dan (Noelle did a wonderful job on one of my brides hair yesterday), Allison and Josh (whose wedding I am sooooo pumped to be photographing this year on Oct. 1st) and Parker and Melissa whom I would like to send a huge congratulations to as they will be getting married in 2013. Its a wonderful wedding world with these guys! Enjoy the moments and memories from last year, and know there are many more images…as this was only two of the weddings I photographed this crew at.
To Noelle & Dan: you always have smiles on and sure do bring the dance party!

To Allison & Josh: I have really enjoyed getting to know you two! You are going to have a wonderful wedding, and you two are adorable together! Oh and I’m sorry these aren’t the greatest images of you two…Josh….well…enough said :) (You can however see their amazing engagement photos on my blog if you want to see better images of Josh :))

To Melissa & Parker: What a pair! Parker always brings his best to photos :) and Melissa is one of the sweetest women I have met. You two will have a wonderful wedding and are made to grow old together!

Looking forward to seeing some of you this weekend!
Camp Wildwood Wedding, Bridgeton ME: Maine Wedding Photographer
Truly God was looking down on Melissa & Christian this weekend and held Hurricane Irene up in CT and MA. After 14 years these two were finally married yesterday at Camp Wildwood and the comments made at the wedding most were how caring and gifted both of them are. It was very apparent as 150 people came from all across the world to bunker down with Melissa & Christian for the weekend. There was so much love between family and friends I felt very lucky to be a part of it. The Kitchen Chicks Catering Staff worked so hard all weekend and brought amazing food to the event. Their band traveled up from CT, and the talented videographers traveled in from RI to document this wonderful occasion. The table linens, lanterns, and flowers were done by friends and family. The bride said her inspirations were found on the one guilty pleasure she allowed herself the Style Me Pretty Wedding Blog.
Let me tell you the little I have learned about Melissa & Christian this weekend. I leaned that they are incredibly talented and their talent is to touch peoples lives. In each place they have lived, and every walk of life they have traveled they have kept close ties and connections to the people they have met. Then they are able to bring them all together, and again touch each persons lives and unite everyone. Christian and Melissa put on a wonderful party for their friends and families. Everyone had such a great time, it was so carefree. You will see in their wedding images it was important to show them the moments and the enjoyment of the weekend. One very unique part of their wedding was “The Amazing Race” which they planned for their friends and brought out many fun moments and made many more memories. ”The Amazing Race” was ten teams looking to answer 10 clues and at each clue their was an activity they had to complete. You will see an oreo eating contest, and a task where the groups had to recreate the Washington’s Crossing photo with selected props. I hope you laugh as much as I did while I was photographing. :)
One of her good friends told a story during her speech that really touched me. She said that what truly summed up Melissa and Christian’s relationship was last summer while they were staying on the Cape with friends they all went hiking together. When they returned everyone went in to the house to shower and relax…but Christian and Melissa went swimming in the pool. Hours later her friend said she woke up and realized they hadn’t come in. So in the middle of the night she went to the pool to check on them. What she found was Melissa surfing on a float and Christian counting 4….5….6….7….through their laughter. Christian and Melissa had begun a contest to see who could stay up the longest on the float in the pool. This to me just really showed their ability to entertain themselves and be each others best friend. Melissa and Christian met at Trinity College, and spent three years in Rwanda together bringing medical care to all types of people. They have been together for 14 years! They currently live in Boston and I wish them many more amazing adventures and wonderful years.
